Hey everyone, I know I haven’t been that active recently when it comes to new tips/guides and I want to address that in this post, while also doing a giveaway π shoutout to EA Sports for providing me with two copies of NHL 18 to giveaway. If you don’t care about what is upcoming for ChelTips and just want to participate in the giveaway then head to this section.
Where have I been?
Okay, so first things first. Believe it or not, I don’t make a living from posting NHL tips every week(er.. couple weeks). Yeah huge shocker, right?
My real life job has been extra busy for the last month as I’m transitioning into a new role with the company I work for. The reason I built this site in the first place was actually a project related to my work. I was pleasantly surprised that the site actually got popular since that wasn’t really the goal of the project but definitely has made it a lot more fun π so thanks to everyone who reads and supports the site.
Where do I work? Okay fine, I guess I’ll shamelessly plug it then. I work for a company called WPMU DEV. If you’re interested in developing websites with WordPress then check it out.
So, that is the main reason content on ChelTips has been slowing down recently but not the only reason!
HUT Comp Seasons
My second favourite mode to play in NHL 18 is HUT Competitive Seasons. Anyone who has been playing Season 1 will know how much of a grind it has been to try and get into the top 100 each round. With nine rounds and only two days per round, it has been taking up a lot of the free time that I do have. I plan on doing a recap of my first NHL 18 competitive season experience(and some tips) once it ends this week.
To EA: Please make the rounds a little bit longer next season. 3-4 days would be perfect, in my opinion.
ChelTips Future
What does this all mean for ChelTips? In short, it means less frequent posts from me. I want to focus on writing the in-depth guides. I have a new HUT Guide for NHL 18 in the works right now. The big guides like my NHL 18 Coaching Strategies, and New NHL 18 Dekes Guide, have been some of my most popular content and it looks like they help the largest amount of players so I want to keep those going.
This got me wondering if there were any experienced NHL 18 players out there that would want to write some shorter tips posts, here on ChelTips? For more frequent content between my full guides.
Some requirements:
- Minimum 500 words
- Decent written English (don’t need no perfect grammar around ‘ere – needs to be readable)
- No attacks on other players
- CANNOT involve coin selling
- CANNOT encourage game exploits or breaking of EA’s ToS
- The tip/post must be helpful on it’s own(can’t require leaving the site for “full details”)
*One-off posts are fine. I’m just a platform to share helpful NHL 18 content; doesn’t matter whether you want to write one post or a dozen, if it will help other players then I’m likely happy to share it.
What I can provide from my end:
- I’ll take care of the featured images for all posts
- Editing the post(if needed)
- Assistance with getting game clips/screenshots
- Discuss new tip/guide ideas if you aren’t sure something will be helpful or not
- Statistics on your posts(how many views)
Of course, if you are trying to build your own EA Sports NHL related platform then you can also plug your own channel/stream/site. It’s an opportunity to help grow your own following too π
If you are interested in this then add your email to the from below:
**The list of emails will be used to gauge the amount of interest in writing ChelTips posts and also to contact you with further details regarding this if I go ahead with it. You will NOT receive updates to anything else unless you’ve already subscribed to my NHL tips. This is a separate list.
If you have any questions/comments for me on this you can either leave them in the comments section below or send them through the contact form.
