For those who haven’t played HUT in past years – Team of the Year is similar to Team of the Week, but instead looking back over the entire season, these will be the most sought after players in HUT until NHL 17 is put to rest and everyone jumps onto the NHL 18 train.
If it’s like last year then there will be 4 TOTY teams:
- Community Team of the Year (community voted by us!)
- Defensive Team of the Year (best defensive stats players
- 23 and Under Team of the Year (top performers 23 and under)
- Offensive Team of the Year (top point producers)
The last 3 on that list we likely won’t see until next month; however, the Community team voting begins today(March 7th)! So we will get a good idea of which players will soon receive Community Team of the Year(CTOTY) items.

HUT CTOTY 2017
We don’t have much confirmed information right now, but expect it all to be released later today on all of EA Sports NHL’s media channels. I suspect CTOTY items will work much like last year.
These were the requirements to be eligible for last years Community Team of the Year:
- Never featured as part of a Team of the Week
- Did not receive more than ONE Milestone or Player of the Game item
Voting lasts for a few weeks and once it’s finished the CTOTY players will be available in packs for one week, unless they plan to do it differently this time around.
Where to Vote
I will update this section once it is confirmed. Last year it was held via EA Sports NHL Forums, many suspect that will be case this year as well.
UPDATE: You can vote right now on HUTDB!
